Your summer skin has been through A LOT.
Sun. Heat. Sweat. Pool days. Vacations. Pollution. Environmental exposure.
And if you’re a woman over 40, there’s another piece to consider: mature skin naturally becomes drier and can have a harder time maintaining moisture.
So before we head into cooler, drier fall weather, as a mature women, esthetician and professional makeup artist, I’m giving my skin a little end-of-summer reset! And I’ll let you know the two things I always talk first about with my spa service clients, as well as the two products I regularly recommend!
EXFOLIATION: FACIAL RESURFACER

After a summer of sun, sweat, pollution and environmental exposure, your skin can have a buildup of dead skin cells and impurities sitting on the surface.
My go to is Facial Resurfacer it uses mineral-rich Vanuatu volcanic ash to gently exfoliate and buff away those dead surface cells, helping reveal smoother, softer and brighter-looking skin.
It also contains kaolin clay, which helps absorb excess oil and impurities making it especially helpful if your skin is feeling congested or oily.
Think of it as giving your skin a fresh start.
And here’s something I see all the time as a makeup artist: when you have smoother, more refined skin, your makeup simply looks better.
HYDRATION: CLIMATE CONTROL

Hydration is KEY for mature skin.
As we age, skin naturally becomes drier and can have a harder time holding onto moisture. Add months of summer heat and environmental exposure, and that moisture loss can leave skin looking dull, tired and more textured.
Climate Control is formulated with ingredients including Aquaxyl™, SenePlex+® and Glucosamine HCl to support hydration, the skin barrier and skin renewal.
This is the part I don’t want my mature-skin clients skipping.
Exfoliate. Hydrate. Then maintain.
Once we’ve addressed those two key areas, we get into the everyday basics that keep your skin looking and feeling its best:
A good cleanser
Daytime moisturizer
Evening moisturizer
Eye cream – especially on mature skin
The eye area is thinner and more delicate, so it’s often one of the first places we notice visible signs of aging. Give it the extra attention it deserves!
You need the RIGHT basics, used consistently and targeted to what your skin actually needs.
If your skin is feeling a little “what happened to my summer glow?” right now, this is the perfect time to reset.
Exfoliate what needs to come off.
Hydrate what needs to be replenished.
Then maintain it with a consistent routine.
That’s the same approach I use in my treatment room and it’s where I’d start with you, too.
